The award is intended for notable personalities and institutions of non-Czech origin who consistently promote Czech music; in rare cases, the award can be presented to Czech artists living abroad who have achieved international recognition.
The award is intended for instrumentalists or singers accompanied by an orchestra, a chamber orchestra, or any other accompanying instrument, as well as for a performance without any accompaniment.
The award is intended for 2–9-strong chamber groups.
The award is intended for chamber or symphonic orchestras, irrespective of stylistic repertoire (ie. orchestras performing ancient music, through string and chamber orchestras, to large symphonic orchestras).
The award is intended for live opera performances, oratorios, cantatas or choir concerts. It can be presented exclusively to opera ensembles or choirs together with orchestras or accompanying ensembles, or to acapella ensembles. The award cannot be presented to soloists.
The category is inteded for artists who combine classical music with popular or folk music (including indigenous music, jazz, rock and other musical genres). There are no limitations regarding the number of musicians, and no further instrumental and vocal subcategories. Eligible for the award are both live performances as well as projects released on a CD or DVD in the given year.
This category is inteded for Czech artists of all ages, and is exclusive to works that will be premiered in the given competition year.
This category is inteded for any solo, chamber, choir, orchestral or opera performance recording released in the given competition year. A crossover project recording is not eligible to apply.
Czech Television, the main media partner of the Awards, presents its own award. The laureate will be chosen from among the winners of the competition categories.
